The story starts with televised news reports about a serial killer on the loose, killing young children, and mutilating their bodies. The public is justifiably outraged and people need to know why the police have not yet captured this menace to society. Choi Cheol-Gi is assigned to head up the task force and bring this brutal murderer to justice. But instead of finding the real killer, he picks a guy who has served time in prison for sexual assault against a child and presents him to the public as the culprit. WHY? The public will be relieved, the case will be closed, he will be painted as a HERO, and will finally get that promotion.

Not so fast! Prosecutor Joo-Yang eats and plays golf with a wealthy corrupt businessman. When that businessman is arrested for crimes, the prosecutor bends the law to get the charges dropped. He is not exactly a saint. But when he finds out that Choi Cheol-Gi did not catch the real killer, he makes it his mission to expose him. There’s bad blood between the two of them.

The truth is both men abuse their positions of public trust in order to advance their careers, and are unjust. But one of them is … The Unjust. Which one?

IMDb Rating: 6.6 out of 10 stars. Netflix suggested this film as a gem and I agree. My rating is 9 out of 10 stars. This movie painted a very realistic picture of unjust acts that corrupt civil servants commit in their official line of duty. It was a chilling eye-opener.

CJ ENM. “THE UNJUST Official Int’l Main Trailer.” YouTube, 17 May 2020, www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-E6YolRgB4.

It opens with an illegal arms exchange taking place in a hotel in Berlin, Germany between a North Korean, a Russian, and an Arab. Before the transaction can be completed, Mossad (Israeli intelligence) burst into the room. They yell that the North Korean that he can leave, They want the Arab and the Russian guys. However, the South Korean NIS (National Intelligence Service) was trying to listen in on the arms deal. Maybe Mossad does not care about the North Korean spy, but the South Korean agents do! The North Korean spy tries to leave the scene but a South Korean agent chases after him. But he manages not to get caught.

The South Korean agent returns to his office only to get yelled at by his superiors. Not only did he not get any evidence regarding the transaction exchange but they have no intel that the guy he chased is even from North Korea. The NIS agent is certain the North Korean spy has information about a secret bank account that belonged to the late Korean leader Kim Jung-il. The funds will be used by other countries that aid North Korea.

It turns out the guy being chased is not just a North Korean spy, but a hero of the people. Sadly for him, his own countrymen also want to gain access to Kim Jung-il’s bank account for their own political agenda and plan to frame him as a traitor. He is stuck between the proverbial “rock and a hard place”. He needs to try to escape from his North Korean comrades. the South Korean NIS, and the other spy agencies like the Israeli Mossad and the American CIA who are thrown into “mix”. Can he escape? Where will he go?

IMDb Rating: 6.6 out of 10 stars. I disagree with this rating. The action in this film was intense and it was easy to separate the good guys from the bad guys. The spy community is dangerous. But a spy knows this when he or she signs on. What they don’t sign up for is their trusted comrades turning out to be their Real Enemy. This was an awesome spy movie from start to finish. My rating is 9 out of 10 stars.

The government tells the people everything will be alright and that what they are doing is good for the country’s economy. Yeah right. That’s what all politicians say because they work from a distance. An employee working at the nuclear plant tries to warn the president that the plant is not being maintained and if prompt action is not taken, the result will be disastrous. They prepare a scathing report, identifying problems, and recommending solutions BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE! For the employee’s concern and due diligence, they fire him and replace him with someone less competent who just does whatever he is told to do.

Long story short, by the time the president realized how grave the situation was at the nuclear power plant, nobody was willing to risk their lives to go inside and fix it! So the president gets on television, informs the nation of the danger, and pleads for volunteers who are willing to go inside the plant and make the necessary repairs. VOLUNTEER FOR SUICIDE? Where are the heroes when you need them?

IMDb Rating: 6.6 out of 10 stars. I think this rating is too low. Perhaps the acting was not stellar. But there is no way a viewer could miss the important and critical message of this film. NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS MUST BE KEPT SAFE!!
